Why do we support this?

people are in prisons and YOIs in England & Wales. This is the highest per capita prison population in Western Europe.
28%
of young people in custody in England & Wales are Black (Mar 19). This percentage has more than doubled since March 2006.
1753
people have died in police custody or following police contact in England & Wales since 1990.
20%
of child homicide victims in England & Wales are Black. Therefore, the risk of homicide for Black children is disproportionate.
